  1. Don’t make sense gerrard, scholes or beckham, be famous don’t mean that is better, beckham is very good but is not more talented and important than greaves, bryan robson, haynes and hapgood.

    • Tanks for your comment. You’re welcome.

I’ve the same idea about Beckham, but if Beckham is here Scholes and Gerrard should also be in this team.

      What about this:
      Out: Beckham, Gerrard, Scholes
In: Bryan Robson, Haynes and Greaves

    • Beckham is better than Robson. Beckham done so much how many others cited. Beckham had a lot of talent, and is for many a legend of English football, deserves surely be in the England All-Stars.

      • weplayer – beckham is not better than robson or haynes. he is good but he is not one of the best english players ever. he is really overrated and is not more complete or talented footballer than robson, haynes or many others like gazza, finney, edwards. he is just famous.

graphicpesking – i suggest lofthouse, byrne, beckham, gerrard and scholes out and hapgood, greaves, robson, haynes and wilson in

      • Ok guys!

I researched about all those players.

Beckham is good, he have a really nice cross (one of the best ever) he is a excelent free kick taker and he had an influential position at Man United and England NT.

However he is not that world class player, that amazing player, that incredible player that they said. To be honest, he looks me overrated by media and Robson is a more complete and important football player than him. Haynes is more talented and quickly than him.

Beckham was a very decisive player (more than Haynes, for example) but is not better (talking about talent and versatility) than Haynes or Robson.

        What do you think:
Out: Gerrard, Scholes, Byrne e Lofthouse
In: Greaves, Bryan Robson, Haynes and Hapgood

  2. is unfair to say that Beckham is overrated by the media, as if he had nothing done for England. Beckham is indeed one of the best players in the England team history, along with Charlton, Gascoigne, Matthews, Lineker, Moore, and others.

    • I don’t say that Beckham did nothing for England. He was an crucial player (for example, against Greece). I just say that Beckham is not so skilled or complete like social media says.

  3. this changes look me good.

graphicpesking – you’re not tottally wrong.

weplayer – is just my opinion beckham is only good.

    • I like Ray Wilson but he played mostly at 2th division (if i’m not in mistake). Ashley Cole is regarted as their best LB, but byrne and pearce are also very good players.

Lately I will replace cole by pearce. thanks for comment.

I have a idea that the england golden generation (1998-2006) is highly overrated. What your idea?

  4. I wouldn’t say overrated but imo this generation had much more potential than they eventually showed. Some of them because of injuries (Owen, Redknapp), some of them because of moves to other clubs (again Owen, Beckham) and some of them were simply not good (every GK during that time). Probably they would have been better at WC06, if Scholes wouldn’t have retired so early and if Owen/Rooney would have both been fit 😉

    • It’s a good generation but it’s all. Potential is one thing, football showed is other.

They never showed a football good enough to win the WC or Euro.

      It’s my idea.
